Introduction/Overview The Future Generali Care Plus is a traditional pure term plan that policyholders can use to safeguard their familys future. This policy offers two variants so that its customers can choose and customize their savings and insurance cover depending on the premium they are able to pay. Key Features This policy offers two plan options for the policyholder to prepare for their familys future financial needs. One is the Future Generali Care Plus Classic option, and the other is the Future Generali Care Plus Premier option. Policyholders can provide financial security to their families at affordable premium rates. The policyholders may customize their plan by choosing additional riders. The policy has a discount for higher sum assured amounts.
Details About Premium Policy Details Grace Period: There is a limited timeframe of 30 days from the due date of the unpaid premium to pay all dues, without interest. This timeframe is reduced to 15 days if payments are being done on a monthly basis. Lapse: Failure to pay three years of due premiums within the Grace Period will result in the policy lapsing. The life cover will cease and no benefits are payable once the policy has lapsed. Policy Termination or Surrender Benefit: There is no Surrender Benefit available with this policy. Termination occurs on the earliest of the following: on payment of the Death Benefit It is also terminated on being lapsed by non-payment of three years of premiums and not being revived within the Revival Period. Free look period: Policyholders have a limited free look period of 15 days from the date of receiving policy documents to review the policy. If the policyholder does not wish to continue with the policy, then he or she has to return the policy stating their objections. The premium that was paid will be refunded minus a proportionate premium for the risk borne by the company, including as any extra expenses, such as towards a medical examination or stamp duty charges. Additional Features or Riders With the Accidental Death Rider, the sum assured is payable in case of the unfortunate death due to an accident. Benefits are however, not paid if there is accidental death due to such conditions such as suicide or self-inflicted injury or death while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, death occurring due to war, riots, etc. This policy has an Accelerated Critical Illness Rider that is payable on the diagnosis of one of eleven illnesses as mentioned by the company. A lump sum amount is provided to meet medical expenses. Benefits will not be paid if a critical illness occurs due to self-inflicted injury, war, injury caused during criminal activity, etc. The revival of a lapsed policy is possible if the policyholder submits a written request for reinstatement within a timeframe of three years from the date of the first unpaid premium. Exclusions The term insurance cover is void if the person insured, whether sane or insane at the time, commits suicide within one year from the start of the policy cover or reinstatement. The company will refund only 80% of the premiums received, as Death Benefit.
If the person insured passes away, the nominee receives the Death Benefit, which is the sum assured. This plan offers additional rider benefits. Tax benefits are available on the premium paid and Death and Maturity Benefits as per sections 80(C) and 10 (10D) of the Income Tax Act.
The policyholder has to fill up an `Application form with identity proof, bank account proof, address proof and a recent photograph. Select cases may require income proof and a medical examination.
